Frequently asked questions

  • What is a CAS?

    The Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies is a reference number issued by your licensed UK sponsor once you accept your offer. You cannot apply without it.

  • How much money do I need to show?

    Your outstanding tuition for the first year plus living costs set by UKVI for your study location, held in a qualifying account for 28 consecutive days.

  • Do I need a TB test?

    If you are applying from the UAE for more than six months, yes — the certificate must come from a UKVI-approved clinic.

  • When can I apply?

    Usually up to six months before your course starts. Applying early protects your enrolment date, especially before September intakes.

  • Can I work while studying?

    Most degree-level students can work limited hours during term time and full time in vacations, subject to the conditions on your visa.

  • Can my family join me?

    Dependents are allowed on certain postgraduate research and longer courses. We confirm eligibility against your specific programme.

  • What if my student visa is refused?

    We review the refusal notice — most often a financial evidence issue — correct the file and guide you on re-applying before your course start date.
