• When can I apply for my F1 visa?

  You can apply once your school issues the I-20 and the SEVIS fee is paid. Student visas can generally be issued up to 365 days before your program start date.

• What is the SEVIS fee?

  The I-901 SEVIS fee funds the student tracking system and must be paid before your interview. The receipt is part of your document set.

• How much funding do I need to show?

  Enough to cover the first year of tuition and living costs as stated on your I-20, evidenced by bank statements, a sponsor letter or a scholarship award.

• Can my family come with me?

  Yes. A spouse and children under 21 can apply for F2 dependent visas alongside or after your F1 application.

• Can I work on an F1 visa?

  On-campus work is generally permitted within limits, and CPT or OPT may be available through your school. Off-campus work without authorisation is not allowed.

• How early should I start the process?

  As soon as you receive your admission offer. Student interview slots get busy before intake seasons, so early filing protects your start date.

• What if my F1 visa is refused?

Refund policy
